Kids on Stage: Putting on a Play (Grades 1-3)

Students will engage with many different stories and translate those stories to a script. They will learn the elements of creating a play. Students will collaborate and use the actor’s tools (body, voice, and imagination) to perform their original work.
There is no camp on June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

Playtime AM: Puppetry, Props, and Play, Oh My! (Age 4 - Kindergarten)

Students will design their own puppets and props to tell stories and create characters. Students engage the actor’s tools of body, voice and imagination, as well as building their skills of the technical elements of theatre to create props and puppets. Please note: Student must turn 4 years old prior to the start of class.

In this class, students will choose a song to perform and will be guided through the process of learning how to make an active switch between dialogue and singing, how to keep playing action during songs, and how to analyze lyrics and music to inspire a performance. Students will gain the skill and confidence to fully embody a character while expressing the story through song.
Movement/Dance for the Actor
with Amara Grace

Dive into the world of Beginning Dance for Adults. This course is designed for beginner and intermediate dancers looking for a fun and supportive environment to explore movement. Led by the dynamic Amara Grace, this class blends foundational dance techniques with expressive choreography, helping students build rhythm, coordination, and confidence. Participants will learn essential movements, including isolations, syncopation, and improvisation, while exploring various dance styles.
Playtime AM: Imagination Station (Age 4 - Kindergarten)

Students step into the story as they become the characters from picture books related to the theme of imagination. Students engage the actor’s tools of body, voice and imagination to become different characters and act out stories together. Please note: Student must turn 4 years old prior to the start of class.
